18th Annual Montclair Village Holiday Stroll

The season of caring is upon us and Montclair Village is ready to celebrate it’s return during the upcoming 2021 Holiday Stroll on Thursday, December 9th from 5:30-8pm.

Since COVID came on the scene 19 months ago it’s become more clear than ever how important “the Village” is, not only as a vibrant commercial center and provider of essential services, but as a community gathering place for people who care about each other.

The Montclair Village Association is excitedly planning the 18th Annual Holiday Stroll and invites you and yours to make the Village your December destination for festive shopping, dining and overall merriment.  What are some of the highlights you can expect?

• Performances by the Pacific Boys Choir and Tap Dancing Christmas Trees
• Strolling with costumed student dancers from the Oakland Ballet and a fanciful Ice Queen on stilts
• Family photos with Santa in a Winter Wonderland setting (at the Holiday Stroll + additional dates)
• Toy donation drive hosted by the Oakland Fire Department

• Commemorative mug sales along with Village Plaza updates
• Opportunity to chat with District 4’s City Councilmember Sheng Thao

It’s a wonderful thing that so many local businesses have survived the last 19 months, and that joyful traditions like the Holiday Stroll are returning, especially during this time of year.  As Montclair Village Association’s Executive Director Daniel Swafford stated, “Businesses are versatile — what they do really well is persevere and adjust to changing times, but we have to look to the fact that we are in this together, and what creates our sense of community, are the unique experiences and relationships our neighborhood businesses provide.”
