HOW THE MONTCLAIR CARES CLUB BEGAN

In 2020, “We Care About You” was launched as a Village slogan to highlight how businesses were protecting the health and safety of staff & patrons. Window decals in Village stores were displayed as a reminder that the business owners “Care” about the community and that they value you, their customers, clients, neighbors, and friends. The Village business owners have a longstanding history of community service, donations for schools, event and team sponsorships, and the dedication to meet your needs with professionalism, expertise, and care, from local owners and employees that you have come to know and trust.

CREATION OF THE MONTCLAIR CARES CLUB

“We Care About You” has since evolved into a broader vision of what community caring can accomplish, incorporating the whole community into actionable (and easy) steps to improve the vibrancy, the beautification, and the safety of The Village.

So, we’re proud to announce the launch of the Montclair Cares Club. It is an opportunity for residents, merchants, visitors, and members of the public to contribute their voice to help shape the future of Montclair Village.

WHAT DOES THE MONTCLAIR CARES CLUB DO?

The Montclair Cares Club works to create meaningful community connections, support cultural expression, and improve the overall quality of life for people in our area.

Our immediate focus is to fund and support the safety ambassadors for our Shop Safe Program. We also focus on free, family-friendly outdoor events (ie., Montclair Village Beer, Wine & Music Festival, Montclair Village Holiday Stroll, outdoor movie nights, and the Montclair Art Walk), including additional community-building activities yet to be launched.

The goal is to include some—or all—of the following features:

• Performances
• Community Connections
• Dining, Shopping, and Supporting our Merchants
• Networking/Connecting
• Youth Programs
• Kids’ Activities
• Art Commissions
• Educational Opportunities

In addition to events and social activities, the MCC would lead or support projects in the Village that positively enhance the experience of being in The Village. The recent development of the new and improved Montclair Village Plaza is just one example of how community members—working together—can uplift, connect, and create to Build a Better Village.
